My work covers the full design process, from research and concept development to technical detailing, with a strong focus on complex spatial challenges. With professional experience since 2016 across both public and private sectors, I am experienced in project management, stakeholder engagement and clear visual communication, allowing me to approach design tasks in a thoughtful and creative way.

Leiden
Lammenschansdriehoek
The Lammenschansdriehoek is a large scale urban transformation where living, working and everyday use come together. The public realm acts as the connective framework of the area. The design focuses on a clear, green and climate-resilient environment, with space for social interaction, movement and slow mobility.Through an integrated approach, water, ecology, mobility and use are carefully aligned, resulting in a robust public space that can evolve alongside the area’s ongoing development. Functional where necessary, comfortable where possible, and always accessible.

Leiden
Vogelwijk
Within this sewer renewal project, I was responsible for the design process of the public space, as well as for coordinating an intensive participation process with local residents. The design focused on managing rainwater locally by allowing it to infiltrate through parking areas and green spaces, reducing pressure on the sewer system. In addition, new greenery was introduced, with more trees added, making the neighbourhood visibly greener and better prepared for future climate conditions. What I am particularly proud of is the active involvement of residents throughout the process and their connection to both the plan and their direct living environment. Through the introduction of adoptive tree pits and a careful participation approach, the relationship between the neighbourhood and the public space was strengthened. The result is a broadly supported design that has been successfully realised.

Leiden
Raadsherenbuurt
Running in parallel with the Vogelwijk project, this project focused on improving the quality and usability of public space within the neighbourhood.
The design aimed to create new places to stay and meet, and making green spaces more accessible and usable in daily life. By adding planting areas and trees, additional shade was introduced, improving comfort and contributing to a more pleasant microclimate throughout the neighbourhood.Close collaboration with residents played an important role in shaping the design. By carefully aligning the layout and use of the public space with local needs, the result is a supported design that strengthens both spatial quality and everyday use of the neighbourhood.

Leiden
Zoeterwoudseweg Vrijheidslaan
For the Zoeterwoudseweg – Vrijheidslaan project, I worked on improving the street and public space. The design makes the area safer and clearer to use, while also improving the overall look and feel of the street.A strong focus was placed on climate adaptation. More greenery and trees were added to create shade and make the street more comfortable on warm days. After construction, the street is measurably cooler, contributing to a more pleasant and livable environment.

Design week Milan
For Milan Design Week 2025, I collaborated with Balmaceda Studio, based in Mexico City, to design and build four custom tile objects for an exhibition installation. Within these objects, four Jardines were created, inspired by the work of landscape architect Roberto Burle Marx. The project was the result of a close collaboration with Balmaceda, a rewarding design adventure from concept to realization in Milan.

I am an independent urban and landscape designer based in Schiedam, working on projects that focus on clear spatial solutions and quality. My approach is analytical, pragmatic and grounded in how places are actually used.I enjoy building long-term relationships with clients to work together on environments that serve people. Alongside my professional practice, I am a father of twins and married to Fernanda, which naturally informs my interest in creating spaces that support everyday life, now and in the future.
